Characteristic and Usage:
SILONG 914 is a non-reactive silane. Because of its high volatility, it is usually refrigerated. The symmetry of the tetramethylsilane molecule makes it a non-polar compound.
SILONG 914 is used in chemical vapor deposition processes to create thin layers of silicon dioxide or silicon carbide.
SILONG 914 is used as an internal standard for calibrating chemical shift in 1H, 13C and 29Si NMR spectroscopy.
SILONG 914 can be chlorinated to form organic synthesis intermediates.
SILONG 914 also is used in polyurethane or polyolefin resin as foaming agent.
